Elye is an Associate in the Riyadh Office and a member of the Corporate Structuring Team.
During Elye’s time in Saudi Arabia, Elye has practised in corporate and commercial law for many listed and unlisted corporate and government entities. He has also worked extensively in the areas of corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions and corporate compliance.
Elye is current with the intricate workings of the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority, the Ministry of Commerce and Investment as well as other government authorities. Elye specialises in incorporating entities, liquidating entities, share transfers, commercial agency arrangements, performing due diligence assignments as well as corporate governance amendments. Elye also has relevant experience and skill in working with defence companies.
Elye began working in the Saudi Arabian legal market in 2014. Prior to joining Al-Tamimi, Elye was an associate at Norton Rose Fulbright US LLP and he has worked in various prior legal capacities in the Ministry of Justice and other local establishments in New Zealand. Elye has also appeared in a representative capacity before the New Zealand Parliament and the New Zealand Treasury prior to migrating to Saudi Arabia.
- Advising on the set up of non-GCC owned and GCC owned entities within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This includes advice on corporate structuring and licensing to fit multi-jurisdictional business activities and commercial needs. It also includes drafting, reviewing and advising on all related structuring agreements, regulatory advice, strategy and compliance, corporate governance and joint venture arrangements (including joint shareholdings, distribution/agency relationships and franchise arrangements).
- Advising pharmaceutical companies on the establishment of technical & scientific services offices and their compliance obligations with the Saudi Food and Drug Authority.
- Advising on the regulatory requirements for manufacturing, construction and healthcare entities within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
