Essam Al Tamimi opened the first office of Al Tamimi & Company in Sharjah in January 1989. He was supported by one secretary. In July 1989, Al Tamimi & Company opened their second office in the World Trade Centre in Dubai with a total number of five lawyers.
In April 1991, the first edition of Law Update, the firm’s client newsletter, was published.
This year Al Tamimi saw further expansion in the UAE with the launch of an office in Abu Dhabi. The firm had a total number of 10 lawyers at this time.
Al Tamimi continued its expansion to serve a new client base by launching an office in the Dubai Internet City.
Al Tamimi expanded outside of the UAE with the opening of an office in Doha, Qatar, in association with Advocate Mohammed Al Marri.
Al Tamimi further expanded in the region through the launch of an office in Baghdad, Iraq.
A big milestone in the history of the firm was the launch of our office in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). The DIFC office became the head office for the firm.
Jordan and KSA were next on the firm’s radar with offices being opened in Amman, Jordan and Riyadh, KSA in 2008. The firm also expanded their offering in Qatar with the launch of an office in the Qatar Financial Market (QFC).
A joint venture with Attorney Yaqoub Yousef Al-Munayae led to the opening of an office in Kuwait.
With the firm’s client base expanding in the Northern Emirates, Al Tamimi launched an office in Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) in 2012.
With 10 offices in 6 countries in the Middle East, 38 partners and 230 lawyers, now was not a time to slow down. Further expansion led to the firm expanding its footprint in Iraq with the launch of an office in Erbil and Basra.
The firm celebrated 25 years in the Middle East. It also stamped its GCC footprint with new offices in Bahrain and Oman.
Al Tamimi expanded its network of offices in the region to include Cairo, Egypt and Jeddah, KSA. This advanced the total number of offices in the Middle East to 16 across 9 countries with 330 lawyers.
The firm celebrated 25 years of Law Update and launched its most recent office in Al Khobar, KSA.
The firm has expanded to 17 offices in 9 countries with 60 partners, 330 lawyers, and 720 staff from 45 nationalities.
The firm celebrated its 30 year anniversary.
We expanded our presence in Egypt with the opening of our second office in Port Said, the region’s leading transshipment hub.
Africa is an important market for our firm, and as part of our expansion plans, we opened an office in Casablanca, Morocco making it our third office in Africa.
