Ashraf Hendi is an Associate in the Banking & Finance practice in Kuwait. He has many years of transactional and advisory experience and works on a broad range of bilateral and syndicated loan facilities.
Ashraf specializes in drafting and negotiating the documentation for loan facilities, project finance, and equity finance. He also has particular expertise in drafting loans’ security documents, receivable finance agreements, and trade finance documentation.
In addition, Ashraf has a particular strength in bringing together the legal and practical know-how which he gained through representing several financial institutions and corporations in different economic sectors.
Prior to joining Al Tamimi Ashraf was an associate in an international law firm in Cairo, as well as a leading Egyptian law firm. He also has experience as an in-house legal counsel for one of the leading multinational banking institutions located in Egypt.
- A German global and financial services company, HSBC Middle East Limited and a group of other financial institutions, on several project finance transactions for establishing a number of electric power stations in Egypt.
- Misr Cement Qena SAE, an Egyptian industrial company, on the EGP 1 billion debt finance to takeover ASEC Cement Minya SAE and ASEC Ready Mix SAE companies;
- Commercial International Bank, National Bank of Egypt, HSBC, National Bank of Abu Dhabi, and Banque Misr, on the restructuring of various debt finance instruments amounting to EGP 1 billion for an Egyptian group that specializes in the hospitality sector.
- BNP Paribas SA and Société Générale, on the EUR 201 million project finance to the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company for establishing six power substations.
