Biography

Hussain is an Associate in the Innovation & Patents practice, based in Bahrain.

Hussain works closely with international, regional and domestic clients, providing assistance and advice on the protection, licensing and enforcement of innovation, patents, and industrial property (3IP) rights. Hussain is very active in obtaining market insights and intelligence in a broad range of sectors, such as high technology, public policy and industrial R&D, in addition to facilitating high level liaisons with various branches of government and high-ranking individuals across the GCC.

Hussain has authored a number of articles to Al Tamimi’s Law Update, Lexis Nexis and regularly mentors   and participates in cross-departmental transactions and matters in light of his previous experience with various regulatory compliance authorities and government advisory councils in Bahrain and the GCC.

  • Representing a British Independent Manufacturer of Luxury Vehicles in Industrial Design and Trademark infringement claim in light of a terminated agency agreement.
  • Advising a Leading Cloud Computing Platform on local IoT, Radio Communications and privacy regulations.
  • Representing a Multinational Oil & Gas Oilfield Operator on technical environmental compliance and trade secret protection in Bahrain Energy Services Group.
  • Negotiating on behalf of American Multinational Technology Company for the purposes of facilitating entry into the Bahraini e-commerce, cloud computing, digital streaming, and artificial intelligence market.
  • Advising one of the Largest Aerospace and Defense Manufacturers on Bahrain Tender Board prerequisites and the undertaking of government contracts.
  • Advising a Swedish Audio Streaming and Media Services Provider on local rules and regulations media innovation and IP consideration regarding live-streaming.
  • Conducting a wide-scale due-diligence exercise on behalf of a Chinese Short Video Social Platform covering safe harbor rules, work for hire and technical copyright considerations.
  • Advising a reputable Automobile Manufacturer on rolling out a new autonomous car-maneuvering system.
