Biography

Zayd has over six years’ experience advising on intellectual property. Starting out his career as a patent attorney, Zayd was involved in a range of patent prosecution work including upstream/downstream petrochemicals, industrial chemical processes, ophthalmic lenses, and general engineering. He also has experience in front of the EPO Opposition Division and Boards of Appeal.

Zayd has additional experience giving advice surrounding trade secrets, having presented internally and externally on trade secret policies, and having co-authored an article in an IAM Special Report on the implementation of a trade secret strategy.

Prior to joining Al Tamimi, he worked within the IP Advisory team at Deloitte London, where he provided clients with strategic advice surrounding their IP endeavours. While at Deloitte, Zayd presented at the AI in Biotech conference, covering the intersections of IP, AI, and drug discovery.
