Zayd Husseini Eyre

Biography

Zayd has over six years’ experience advising on intellectual property. Starting out his career as a patent attorney, Zayd was involved in a range of patent prosecution work including upstream/downstream petrochemicals, industrial chemical processes, ophthalmic lenses, and general engineering. He also has experience in front of the EPO Opposition Division and Boards of Appeal.

Zayd has additional experience giving advice surrounding trade secrets, having presented internally and externally on trade secret policies, and having co-authored an article in an IAM Special Report on the implementation of a trade secret strategy.

Prior to joining Al Tamimi, he worked within the IP Advisory team at Deloitte London, where he provided clients with strategic advice surrounding their IP endeavours. While at Deloitte, Zayd presented at the AI in Biotech conference, covering the intersections of IP, AI, and drug discovery.

Coopervision, an ophthalmic lens manufacturer, drafted a number of patent application to cover new ideas in the contact lens space.
Chevron Phillips Chemical, a petrochemicals company, worked with the IP team on several oppositions and appeals at the EPO BOA and Opposition Division, to great success.
Swiss Re, a reinsurance company, assisting on IP discovery work to provide an understanding of their IP, and where value may be found.

A reduced risk products company, in the vaping sector, on the potential sale of their IP assets, including identification of key targets, and key valuable IP assets.
