Biography

Mohammed is an Associate in the Corporate & Tax Department of the Baghdad Office, with professional experience advising local and international clients on corporate, tax and regulatory matters in Iraq.

His practice covers corporate establishment and structuring, regulatory registrations, corporate compliance and ongoing legal requirements before the Ministry of Trade, General Commission for Taxes and other relevant authorities.

He has supported clients throughout the lifecycle of their Iraqi operations, including incorporation, registration, amendments, licensing and corporate housekeeping matters.

Developed substantial practical experience in Iraqi taxation, including Corporate Income Tax (CIT), Personal Income Tax (PIT), withholding tax (WHT), tax registrations, tax assessments, reconciliations and settlement procedures. He regularly assists local and international clients in assessing their Iraqi tax obligations, preparing tax calculations and supporting the resolution of outstanding tax matters with the relevant authorities.

His experience also includes advising on tax implications of cross-border transactions, contractual arrangements and activities in Iraq, including the application of Iraqi tax legislation and relevant double taxation considerations.

Alongside his corporate and tax practice, Mohammed has received training in Alternative Dispute Resolution, including arbitration and mediation, and has participated in international arbitration-related moots, programmes and professional training.
