Biography
Maysa Sleiman is a qualified lawyer admitted to the Bar in Lebanon since 2015 and has joined the Dispute Resolution practice of Al Tamimi & Company in Qatar in 2023 and currently holding the position of a Senior Associate. She holds a master’s degree in international and European Law from the University of Saarland in Germany, with dual specializations in International Dispute Resolution and International Trade and Investment, in addition to a Diploma in Public Policies from the University of Oxford.
Maysa has been recognized in the Legal 500 Private Practice Powerlist: Middle East 2023, highlighting her growing reputation in the region’s dispute resolution landscape.
At Al Tamimi & Company, Maysa leads a significant part of the advisory practice within the dispute resolution team. Her work spans a broad range of contentious and non‑contentious matters, including tax, maritime, construction, insurance, enforcement, and conflict of laws. She has extensive experience advising international clients on complex cross‑border matters and multinational tax disputes.
She regularly represents and advises leading global corporations, including MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company, WS Atkins, Dior, Sapura Energy, and Majid Al Futtaim, on high‑value disputes and cross‑border agreements. Her practice also includes working on local and international arbitration cases.
Maysa is also an active legal author and contributor, with several notable publications in Chambers & Partners, Global Arbitration Review (GAR), and Thomson Reuters, reflecting her expertise across her areas of specialization.
Recent Experience
- Recently participated in arbitration for a banking-fintech dispute, a multi-million-dollar case before QICCA between an international bank and an international fintech company.
- Assessed and advised several top-notch construction companies on claims before ICC and QICCA.
- Handled an extensive number of litigation proceedings, including assessing, reviewing documents, and drafting memos for courts for multi-complex construction claims.
- Advised joint ventures (JVs) on matters related to major projects in Qatar, such as Doha Metro, Sidra Medical & Research Center, Salwa Road North Relief, and Hamad International Airport Expansion projects.
- Drafted various types of contracts to set out and facilitate commercial relations, project management , legal compliance, employment matters, and settlement of disputes.
