Kasab has over six (6) years experience advising on banking and finance matters  mainly in areas dealing with financial regulation, conventional & Islamic financings, project finance, acquisition finance, debt capital markets, and investment funds.  He has also acted on a wide range of domestic and cross-border transactions with his experience spanning across various sectors, such as energy, manufacturing, financial institutions and technology. He has acted for various banks, financial organisations, regulators, and issue managers in the GCC region.

Prior to joining Al Tamimi, he has worked extensively in Oman and in India.

Recent Experience

  • Advised a leading GCC financial institution and its Bahrain-domiciled investment fund on the establishment, regulatory structuring and private placement of a Shari’ah-compliant fintech fund, including drafting the full suite of fund documentation and advising on regulatory approvals for a BHD35 million capital raise.
  • Advising the Bahrain branch of a leading global financial institution on its strategic options for exploring a potential sale of its wealth and retail banking business in Bahrain.
  • Advising Arcapita Investment Management B.S.C as Bahrain legal counsel on three (3) different private placement offerings.
  • Advising GFH Credit Fund (“GFH”) in relation to a real estate financing of the prestigious Golden Gate project in Bahrain. GFH are providing a commodity Murabaha financing in an aggregate amount of BHD 12,000,000 (around US$ 32 million) to a leading real estate developer in Bahrain namely GG Developers W.L.L.
  • Advising Alubaf Arab International Bank B.S.C(c) as lead counsel on three (3) different cross border corporate lending transactions with (i) Future Information Services Ltd; (ii) BGN Int DMCC; and (iii) Ola Energy Supply DMCC. The transactions involved a wide range of funded and non-funded facilities including trade finance facilities (i.e., letter of credit), letter of credit financing, term loan facility and short-term loans.
  • Acting as both the lead and local counsel to Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector, an international financial institution, to extend lines of finance facilities to selected financial institutions in Bahrain.
  • Advised Gulf International Bank BSC (GIB), in relation to a share acquisition debt financing, for which GIB acted as inter alia underwriter, coordinator and mandated lead arranger for a senior secured debt facility for Ominvest SAOG aggregating to USD 267,000,000.
  • Advised Diyar Muharraq WLL, a Bahraini real estate developer, in securing financing (mix of working capital loans and Islamic facilities) from Al Salam Bank BSC and Khaleeji Bank BSC for its general corporate purposes and for refinancing its existing facilities
  • Advised Esterad Bank BSC, a Bahraini financial company, in restructuring its AT1 Sukuk program.
