Biography
Jamal worked at a local law firm in Jeddah for three years prior to joining Al Tamimi & Company in 2022. He has particular experience in commercial transactions and corporate matters. In his previous role, he was involved with reviewing and drafting of various local and international commercial agreements as well as complying corporates internal policies under the KSA laws.
To mention but a few of previous experiences: Draft a Share Purchase Agreement (SPA) between a Saudi company and a Belgian company in the field of maritime shipping.
Review of a Commercial Agency Contract in the business of pharmaceuticals in English in coordination with the contract parties outside Saudi Arabia.
Review and negotiate an agreement related to a main international sport event for Automobile & Motorcycle racing in Saudi Arabia.
Draft Terms and Conditions for a Saudi electronic platform specialized in the retail trade, including regulating the legal positions between the platform and its customers, suppliers, and retailers.
Draft a Franchise Agreement in English, with the drafting of its Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD).
Draft a Joint Venture Contract (JV) in English between a Saudi company specialized in the field of information technology infrastructure and an American company specialized in the same activity.

- Successfully represented an international shipping line in a maritime litigation, securing an exemption for the carrier from liability in a cargo claim.
- Provided legal advice on various cargo claim cases in Saudi Arabia, including allision and stevedoring incidents.
- Represented international shipping lines before the National Center for Environmental Compliance in an oil spill case.
- Delivered legal counsel on land transport matters, including both heavy and light transport inquiries.
- Advised on the restructuring of the Ministry of Transport and Logistics Services, focusing on revising the organizational structure and updating the organizational manual.
- Contributed to drafting the Ports Law Draft and associated regulations for the Saudi Ports Authority.
- A Saudi authority, on participating in providing legal consultations regarding legislative and regulations developments of maritime sectors and ports.
- International corporate, on filing a recovery case against a Saudi company chartered two vessels.

- Saurashtra Freight: on drafting legal advice on protecting the client investment interest in KSA, as well as complying Container Lease Agreement along with its Terms and Conditions under the KSA laws.
- Drafting legal advice on compensation of seafarer injury under Sharia principles.
- Advised an international corporate, on the enforceability of cargo limitation of liability under the Montreal Convention before KSA courts.
- Advised a local corporate, on reviewing of Directors and Officers Liability Insurance under the KSA laws.
