Biography
Courtney is an Associate in the Digital & Data practice at Tamimi & Company, based in Dubai. She advises clients on a broad range of technology, data protection, and regulatory matters, with a particular focus on emerging technologies and data compliance frameworks.
Her practice includes advising on emerging and innovative technologies including Automated Vehicles and the Internet of Things (IoT), supporting clients in navigating the legal and regulatory challenges associated with rapidly evolving sectors. She also advises on data protection and privacy matters. Her experience includes drafting and advising on data protection compliance frameworks, drafting and negotiating technology-focused agreements, and preparing privacy policies, cookie policies, and risk assessments for digital platforms. In addition, Courtney has experience in media law, advising on legal and regulatory issues affecting digital content, platforms, and communications.
Courtney is a Solicitor of England & Wales, having qualified via the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) route. She holds an LLB in Law and Criminology from the University of Sheffield.

- Emerging Technologies: advised on emerging technology matters in the UAE, including autonomous vehicles, drone operations, and IoT devices. Provided guidance on regulatory compliance, commercial deployment, and data governance, helping clients navigate the evolving legal landscape.
- Data Protection: advised on data protection matters in the UAE, including compliance with local and international frameworks, cross-border data transfers, reporting obligations to authorities, and drafting internal policies and procedures.
- Media Law: advised on media and advertising matters in the UAE, including the new advertiser permit requirements and compliance with media standards and regulations. Supported clients in navigating the evolving legal and regulatory landscape, ensuring campaigns and operations met local compliance obligations while mitigating potential risks.
- Training Contract: completed a trainee program at the firm, gaining experience across Corporate Structuring, International Litigation, Digital & Data, and Corporate Commercial. Advised on family business succession and restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate commercial matters, and assisted in disputes in the DIFC Courts as well as cross-border litigation and arbitration.
