Ribal is an Associate for Al Tamimi’s Banking & Finance department in Riyadh. Prior to joining Al Tamimi, Ribal worked for almost 4 years at a tier 1 full service law firm in Pakistan (Haidermota & Co.), where he advised on various corporate, commercial and banking & finance matters. In particular, such matters include advising on the development and/or financing of energy and infrastructure projects, banking & finance, public-private partnerships, foreign investments, mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures and anti-trust issues.

Recent Experience

  • Advised seven project companies in connection with their proposed wind power projects in Pakistan, with a combined capacity of 560 Megawatts. The sponsors of these projects adopted a unique mix of equity and financing structures by striking deals with some of the most significant lending institutions in the world, such as International Finance Corporation, Islamic Development Corporation and the CDC Group.
  • Advised one of the largest independent power producers in Pakistan in connection with its proposed waste-water recycling project, through a public-private partnership with a Provincial Government, for providing clean and recycled water to an industrial site in the province.
  • Advised Engro Powergen Thar (Private) Limited in connection with the issuance of rated, secured, and privately placed Sukuks of up to PKR 4 billion for the purpose of arranging working capital for a pioneer project in Sindh, Pakistan aimed at generating electricity using indigenous lignite coal.
  • Advised Sindh Engro Coal Mining Company Limited in connection with restructuring of existing loans and procurement of additional financing for the expansion of its mining project (i.e. the first indigenous coal based mining project in Sindh, Pakistan).
  • Advised Bank AlFalah Limited, as the lead bank, in connection with the syndicated financing for construction of a key motorway in Pakistan with financing of around PKR 13 billion.
  • Advised a consortium of lenders, led by Habib Bank Limited, in connection with the financing of an oil storage facility in Pakistan, worth approximately USD 35 million, with a storage capacity of 108,000 million tonnes.
  • Advised China Power Hub Generation Company (Private) Limited in connection with its 1,320 MW imported coal power project at Hub, Baluchistan province, Pakistan.
