Biography
Mohamed is a dual-qualified Legal Director, with over 15 years of experience working in three jurisdictions in the Middle East and North Africa.
Mohamed has extensive international and regional experience in managing high-profile, multi-jurisdictional, complex civil and commercial litigation and dispute resolution. He also has experience in domestic arbitrations and reviewing and drafting civil and commercial agreements.
In addition, Mohamed has experience in corporate structuring and corporate and commercial matters.
Before joining Al Tamimi & Company, Mohamed was a legal manager for a public listed company, where he managed a legal department consisting of seven team members, who were recognised and listed in The Legal 500 GC Power list: Middle East Teams.
Recent Experience
- Advised on the processes of enforcing international arbitral awards in the UAE and secured a favorable order from the UAE Federal Court for enforcing an international arbitral award with the sum of USD 2.4 billion.
- Advised and represented a renowned oil and gas company in filing a successful appeal case before the UAE Supreme Court for setting aside a judgment awarded against the company worth more than AED 1.055 billion.
- Acted on behalf of a national bank for enforcing mortgage deeds worth more than AED 1.5 billion.
- Managed the dispute for a leading regional energy company, with Islamic bonds international holders of a disputed USD 700 million sukuk.
- Advised an investment company on a shareholders’ dispute in a landmark real-estate project in Dubai and devised the strategy for recovery of the company’s investments (than AED 450m.
- Represented a construction company on the restructuring processes of creditors’ claims declared by the subcontractor (Drake & Scull).
- Advised an American multinational investment bank on the liquidation of equity plan securities from the perspective of the UAE laws.
