Biography
Kathinka Wiig Honore is an Associate in the Banking and Finance department at Al Tamimi & Company. She has experience in acting for major banks and financial services providers in Europe, Asia Pacific in the Middle East region focusing on primarily regulatory matters and licensing issues.
Since joining Al Tamimi & Company, Kathinka has been involved in wide areas of banking and finance in the Middle East including licensing, advising on all DIFC, ADGM and UAE related regulatory matters, crypto currency and credit reporting. Kathinka has a particular focus on FinTechs.
Recent Experience
- US based venture fund’s acquisition of UAE money service provider;
- Re-drafting all terms and conditions for major UAE bank;
- Advising several overseas investment funds and other financial services providers on promotion of financial products and services in the UAE;
- Advising major international credit reporting on credit information regime in the UAE;
- Acting for major European payment service provider assisting transitioning from payment processor to becoming a bank, advising on commercial and corporate law matters, and general EU regulatory matters;
- Acting for major Australian BNPLs and other FinTechs navigating Australian regulatory regime;
- Acting for large European based airline mileage program.
