Darya Ghasemzadeh is an Associate in our Digital & Data practice and is admitted as a solicitor in the Senior Courts of England & Wales . She regularly advises multinational clients around the world on navigating complex commercial, technology, media, telecommunications, and data privacy law matters in the UAE.

Some of her experience includes:

  • Advising on all aspects of data protection compliance under various data protection laws. This includes assisting companies with the necessary safeguards for international data transfers and advising on innovative uses of personal data such as through AI or automated decision-making.
  • Drafting and reviewing software, IT, commercial contracts, data protection contracts, policies, and notices.
  • Advised one of the leading telecommunications operators in the world in relation to providing mobile data connectivity through IoV cards / sim cards to vehicle manufacturers in the UAE.
  • Advised on legal regulatory issues concerning the internet of things, in particular, in the context of telematics for connected cars for major automotive manufacturers.
  • For a government authority, benchmarked multiple telecommunication regulatory frameworks and advised on the best legislative framework to adopt.
  • Advised a multinational consumer goods company on practical measures to obtain consent in relation to call recording.
  • Assisted Nine Yard Pls Holding in its acquisition of 80% of the issued share capital of Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB).
  • Advising businesses on emerging digital and technology legislation, mobile, satellite, internet, telecoms, electronic signatures, media and traditional publication and content laws and regulations.
