Biography

Suhail is an experienced corporate lawyer with expertise in cross border M&A in the Middle East region and with a focus in the technology (including fintech and digital payments) and infrastructure sectors. He also advises extensively on shareholders’ agreements, fund-raising and start up investments, corporate governance and regulatory matters.

Suhail has been based in Dubai since 2008. He has worked on transactions across the Middle East region and in the wider South Asia and Africa region often structuring investment activity via UAE registered holding entities.

His expertise includes foreign direct investment and assisting multi-national companies to expand their footprint across the region. Over this time in the Middle East, he has advised the region’s leading fintech companies, government entities, private equity investors and family offices in relation to a wide range of M&A deals and investment activity.

Suhail is recommended as an expert UAE-based lawyer by legal directories Legal 500 EMEA and IFLR 1000.   •  Advising Saudi Arabia’s Zahid Group on its acquisition of a 50% stake in Greencells Group (one of Europe’s largest solar plant developers and operators).
  • Advising True North Partners on all GCC aspects of a transaction in which they committed to invest USD 200 million of funds into healthcare sector company, KIMS Group.
  • Advising a Spanish hotel group in connection with the acquisition of a 50% interest in a UAE hotel operator and subsequent entry into Hotel Management Agreements in the UAE.
  • Advising a UK listed company on the reverse take-over of a UAE target company including UAE law aspects of the acquisition and supporting the AIM listing aspects of the transaction.
