  • Midya is a Senior Tax Advisor with 10 years of experience advising private clients, business owners and corporate structures of international tax matters.
  • Midya specialises in advising HNW individuals, family businesses and family offices in international tax matters. Prior to joining Al Tamimi & Company, Midya worked for a prestigious tax consulting firm in Dubai where she was focusing on corporate taxation and private client services including regional and cross-border tax matters including establishing business, transparency, restructuring of ownership, setting up Family Office, succession planning by using trust / foundation and asset protection.
  • She has also worked in Stockholm, Sweden for one of the Big 4 firms and the Swedish Tax Authorities.
  • Midya has published articles, including in the STEP TQR, and presented at the external seminars on topics related to Private Clients and Wealth management in the region including UAE, KSA and Kuwait

Recent Experience

  • Advised a well-known KSA family on international and cross-border tax matters including transparency (e.g. FATCA, CRS) and restructuring asset ownership in order to achieve a tax efficient structure, asset protection and succession planning.
  • On an ongoing request, providing international tax advice to a Family Office working for a royal family in the UAE.
  • Secondment at a multinational investment bank in order to assist them with reviewing their internal policies related to on-boarding of clients and their exposure from a tax compliance global tax transparency including CRS / FATCA.
  • Advising a Levant family on their international assets allocated in Europe and the US in order to achieve a tax efficient structure and mitigate the exposure to inheritance tax in especially France, the UK and the US.
  • Advised a well-known multinational business on the tax considerations arising from the restructuring of its investments in the UK, Africa and Asia.
  • Assisted a well-known UAE family business with the restructuring of their ownership and consolidating their assets in order to facilitate compliance with VAT regulations and manage the succession planning of the business to the next generation.
