With over 11 years of experience, Midya has developed extensive expertise in international and corporate tax matters, with a particular focus on corporate structuring for high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs), ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNWIs), family businesses, and multinational groups.

Prior to joining Al Tamimi, Midya worked for a prestigious tax consulting firm in Dubai and Sweden where she was focusing on corporate taxation and private client services including regional and cross-border tax matters including establishing business, transparency, restructuring of ownership, setting up Family Office, succession planning by using trust / foundation and asset protection.

  • Assisted a well-know UAE family business in restructuring its ownership and consolidating assets to ensure compliance with UAE Corporate Tax and VAT regulations, while facilitating a smooth succession to the next generation. The engagement involved advising on the establishment of a tax-efficient structure through the use of a UAE foundation and an underlying holding entity to consolidate the family’s personal real estate and investment portfolios. Successfully secured tax-transparent treatment for both the foundation and the holding vehicle from the Federal Tax Authority, thereby achieving long-term tax efficiency and governance continuity.
  • Advised high-profile U.S. clients on establishing bespoke succession and wealth-holding structures in the UAE by using UAE-based foundations, designed to achieve tax efficiency, asset protection, and intergenerational continuity within a compliant and sustainable framework.
  • Provided comprehensive advisory services to a prominent Saudi Arabian family on international and cross-border tax matters, including compliance with global transparency standards (e.g., FATCA, CRS), restructuring asset ownership for tax efficiency, asset protection, and succession planning.
  • Advised a leading family business on the redomiciliation of its family office from Switzerland to the DIFC, providing strategic guidance on implementing a compliant and tax-efficient structure designed to facilitate succession planning, preserve family wealth, and benefit from the UAE’s 0% corporate tax regime available to qualifying entities.
  • Advised a high-net-worth UAE family on structuring their international assets in Europe and the US to achieve tax efficiency and minimize the risk of UAE tax (place of effective management / permanent establishment), inheritance tax exposure, particularly in France, the UK, and the US.
  • Provided strategic tax advisory services to a renowned multinational group on the restructuring of its investments across the UK, Africa, and Asia, advising on the use of the UAE as a central holding jurisdiction to benefit from its favourable tax regime and extensive double tax treaty network, while ensuring compliance and long-term tax efficiency.
  • Providing tax services to an international oil and gas group from a UAE corporate tax perspective as well as considering the impact of BEPS Pillar 2. This includes conducting a pre-exit reorganization, planning for profit repatriation, managing future tax residency considerations, mitigating permanent establishment risks, addressing deemed disposals, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory obligations.
  • Successfully advised an international shipping group on the redomiciliation of its holding structure to the UAE, providing strategic guidance on establishing a tax-efficient and resilient corporate framework. The engagement included advising the principal family shareholders on the optimal ownership structure, succession planning considerations, and long-term tax implications to ensure effective intergenerational continuity and governance alignment.
  • Completed a secondment at a multinational investment bank to assist in reviewing internal policies related to client onboarding, focusing on tax compliance and global tax transparency requirements, including CRS and FATCA.
