Haleem has over 20 years of experience advising clients across a variety of sectors in the full range of their dispute resolution requirements.  Haleem is a lawyer who possesses international calibre and deep local knowledge.  Haleem’s experience was obtained from acting for an impressive client list in numerous high-profile matters, spans both litigation and arbitration.

Since Haleem’s arrival in Oman in June 2009 he has rapidly become a trusted advisor to many high-net-worth client groups, leading banks, international corporations and government-owned corporations within Oman and across the GCC region.  He has since been assisting these clients with legal counselling in various complex commercial, construction, civil claims, real estate transactions, and providing legal advice and representation in related dispute resolution matters.

  • Acting as an arbitrator in a construction dispute between a contractor & subcontractor.
  • Acting as an arbitrator in a dispute between an engineering consultancy firm and a J.V. contractor.
  • Acting for state-owned companies in multiple major disputes relating to infrastructure construction.
  • Acting for a number of local and foreign construction companies in relation to a variety of disputes involving non-payment, FIDIC issues, contractor issues, etc.
  • 1992 International Oil Pollution Compensation Fund – Leading the defence team in claims relating to sinking of bitumen carrier off the coast of Oman.
  • Salalah Sanitary Drainage Services SAOC – Advising and acting for a 100% government owned company on a claim against an international engineering consultancy firm for negligent supervision of a large infrastructure project in Oman.

  • Advising and acting on behalf of the client as counsel in relation to a complex construction dispute.
  • Advising and acting as banks’ legal advisor in annual general meetings

  • Acting in its defense in a multi-million US$ arbitration proceeding relating to consumer finance.
  • Acting for Omani state-owned company in relation to a million dollar procurement fraud. Work entails liaising with the Public Prosecutor whilst simultaneously instigating a civil claim for recovery in Arabic.
  • Acting for the largest Omani state-owned petrochemical company in relation to numerous litigation matters. Work involves provision of legal opinion, drafting of pleadings in Arabic, advocating civil claims in Arabic at Court level.
  • Acting for two separate private sector for oil and gas companies in relations to all aspects of commercial disputes, fraud and employment disputes. Work involves all aspects of case-management from initial client-contact through to representation at Court.
  • Acting for an internationally recognized foodstuff producer in a complex agency and franchise related dispute.
