Hadeer is an Associate in the Transport and Insurance practice at Al Tamimi & Company joining the team in July 2024, based in the firm’s Dubai office. With nine years of experience in the Middle East and registration with the Egyptian Bar Association, specialising in dispute resolution with a strong focus on maritime, insurance, commercial, and civil litigation.

An advisor to clients on both contentious and non-contentious matters, regularly acting on complex charterparty disputes, marine claims, vessel arrests, and international trade matters. Hadeer has significant experience representing clients before UAE courts and is well-versed in local litigation strategy and procedure. With a background also including corporate and transactional work, including insolvency, restructuring, and M&A, gained from roles at leading regional and international law firms.

  • Drafted and negotiated a series of sale and resale agreements, including complex multi-jurisdictional guarantee structures involving the UAE, Egypt and KSA, collectively valued at over AED 100 million, with a focus on effective debt collection mechanisms.
  • Represented a client in a high-stakes maritime dispute concerning off specification marine fuel supplied by a UAE-based supplier. The case included civil counterclaims and parallel criminal proceedings, safeguarding our client’s commercial and regulatory position.
  • Collaborated with a Swiss law firm to initiate legal proceedings in Switzerland against the counterparty’s head office, seeking USD 27 million in damages for the wrongful arrest of our client’s vessel.
  • Assisted a client in an insurance-related dispute arising from the wrongful arrest of their vessel, pursuing compensation against the counterparty under applicable policies.
