Biography
Ammar is an associate in corporate structure, He has significant experience advising companies and their boards of directors, executive management, and legal teams in public and private in complex corporate transactions. In addition, he regularly advises clients in other corporate, securities, strategic and business-related matters, including corporate governance, stockholder, reporting obligations and disclosure issues.
He has successfully represented all types and sizes of taxpayers, manufacturers, developers, property managers, local businesses, and individuals. He worked as well on taxes matters covered property tax, sales and use tax, transfer tax, withholding tax and franchise and income tax disputes with other Iraq directorates of revenue and local assessing authorities.
He is also experienced in IP matters including trademarks and patent, including grant procedures, infringement advice and conducting opposition and appeal proceedings, consists of litigating in the field of IP. Ammar advises foreign multinationals on trademarks disputes. He also assists companies in granting procedures and litigation.

- Review and preparation of the residential and commercial land purchase and sale agreements Assistance with master community plans Ensuring compliance with all relevant local laws Assistance with landlord and tenant disputes Mortgaged property foreclosure actions Organizing the real estate owner’s accounts—both monthly and yearly, Taxing the property Submitting a tax-free request for vacant properties, etc.
- Register trademarks, industrial designs, patents, copyrights, and digital rights with the Iraqi regulatory authorities. Enforcement, protection, and litigation in respect of IP rights. Providing regulatory advice on the Iraqi IP landscape. IP rights prosecution. Transfers of IP and other IP transactions. Drafting waivers, assignments, and licenses in respect of IP rights.
- Experience in Insurance, providing legal advice regarding compliance in Iraq,
- Sufficient proficiency in deal with issues the corporate and Update Companies file with the Registrar of Companies.
