Biography

Sarah is a Sudanese bilingual associate, who has been in the legal practice in Qatar since September 2015. She trained and worked extensively in the dispute resolution department in a prominent law firm in Qatar, and subsequently worked in an in-house counsel role.

Sarah holds a bachelor’s degree in law from Qatar University and an LL.M in Private Law – Arbitration and Corporate Law, from the same university. She is well-acquainted of Qatari civil and commercial laws; and has a deep understanding of the Qatari legal system, and fair understanding of the common law system.

Sarah mainly works in the litigation and arbitration department in the firm, handling civil and commercial disputes, especially construction disputes and banks disputes.

Recent Experience

  • Handled several litigations for a Qatar Financial Center (QFC) entity (bank), where she provided pre-litigation advice and was in charge of 6+ court proceedings representing the bank against contractors and shareholders.
  • Successfully working on major construction and infrastructure litigation matters for contractors and subcontractors against government entities, starting from the first instance stage up to the stage of enforcement.
  • Constantly advising on matters related to arbitration under Qatari law and enforcement and recognition of international and domestic awards in Qatar.
  • Successfully working on litigations related to bankruptcy and liquidation of companies, and shareholders disputes in Qatar.
