The Doha office is licensed by the QFC and works in association with Adv. Mohammed S. Al Marri Advocates & Legal Consultants, which is licensed by the Ministry of Justice. We have two lawyers within Qatar’s litigation practice who have full rights of audience before the courts of Qatar.
Dr. Hazem is a qualified Senior Associate counsel for arbitration and litigation disputes in the Qatar office. He is focused on handling complex disputes in relation to various areas such as Telecommunications, Construction, Oil & Gas, Investment, Corporate, Maritime and Shipping disputes and all the civil and commercial disputes in general.
Hazem has handled cases under most major arbitration centres, including the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the Swiss Chambers of Commerce (SCC), the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), the London Maritime Arbitrators Association (LMAA), and the Cairo Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (CRCICA).
Hazem has specialist experience in advising on ICSID arbitrations and obtained his PhD in the following field: “Restoring Consistency, Certainty and Predictability to the ICSID Investment Arbitration through the establishment of the Uniform Interpretative Board”.
- Advising Hyundai E&C in several arbitration disputes before the Qatar International Center for Conciliation (QICCA)
- Advising Samsung in an ICC arbitration against Emdad, a local Qatari holding company, in various claims worth QAR 50m+
- Currently advising Fino International in a QICCA claim to a company liquidation and shareholders dispute
