Alia has a diverse legal background in multiple areas of law, including corporate and commercial matters, aviation, arbitration and litigation and investment and banking matters. She focuses on advising multinational companies on corporate law matters starting from incorporation of local entities, corporate formalities, change of managers and capital increases, as well as liquidation procedures and entity closures. On daily basis, Alia advises on and prepares all documentation necessary for corporate secretarial work for corporations in Egypt (such as board meetings and general assemblies). Alia has also advised multinational companies on employment laws and policies, such as employment contracts, hiring requirements for foreign nationals, and concluding amicable settlement to employment terminations.
Alia has a wide experience in acting as an Egyptian counsel in multiple arbitration and litigation cases in various sectors, including agency, employment, real estate and criminal offences.
One of the core areas of expertise is also aviation. Alia has acted an Egyptian Counsel in aircraft leasing transactions by performing multiple legal formalities such as preparation of mortgage registration on aircraft and security documents. She has also prepared jurisdictional questionnaires for foreign aircraft financing and leasing companies covering all legal and procedural aspects of civil aviation transactions in Egypt.
Alia has also worked on preparing due diligence reports and the executive summaries thereof, and has supported global banks in post-acquisition restructuring processes under Egyptian laws and regulations, and in the preparation of the required facility and security documents.
