Recent Experience

  • Representing the client – an international video-streaming service provider – in a USD 20,000,000 DIFC-LCIA arbitration dispute against a leading regional electronics distributor. Responsible for the day-to-day handling of the case, drafting of pleadings and communications with the client.
  • Representing the client – an international electronics conglomerate – in three separate DIFC-LCIA arbitration disputes arising from product distribution agreements with an aggregate value over USD 45,000,000. In addition to drafting pleadings, dealt with applications for interim-anti suit injunctions, attended hearings on said applications and dealt with applications for consolidation or joinder of the proceedings. Responsible for reviewing large quantities data provided by the client to prepare the case.
  • Representing a real estate development company in an AED 240 million DIAC arbitration arising from the construction of a multi-purpose resort project. Responsibilities include drafting pleadings, dealing with the document production phase of the arbitration, handling communications with the client, assisting the client in the preparation of witness statements, and reviewing the preparation of expert reports.
  • Representing a prominent local real estate developer in a construction dispute before DIAC involving claims of more than AED 87,000,000. Responsibilities include drafting pleadings, formulating document production requests and objections to the opposing party’s requests, assisting the client in the preparation of witness statements, reviewing the preparation of expert reports. Involved in the drafting of a successful response to a challenge of the arbitral tribunal in the course of this proceeding.
  • Representing an international client, and its local joint venture company in an AED 27 million construction arbitration under the Dubai Municipality Rules of Arbitration and Conciliation. Responsible for drafting pleadings and acting as a point of contact for the client. Successfully defended against an application for security for costs as well.
  • Representing the client – a multinational industrial equipment manufacturer in a DIAC arbitration dispute. Currently assisting the client in drafting a settlement agreement to close this dispute.
