Al Tamimi to sponsor Aspire4Sport Congress in Qatar

Al Tamimi & Company (Al Tamimi), one of the premier law firms in the Middle East, has announced that it will be the headline B2B sponsor at this year’s Aspire4Sport Congress and Exhibition.

Now in its fourth year, the region’s leading congress on the business of sport is taking place between the 16th and 19th November 2013 at the Aspire Dome in Doha. Aspire4Sport is also supported by the Qatar 2022 Supreme Committee, Qatar Olympic Committee and the Qatar Stars League.

Sport is seen as a key growth market for Al Tamimi, as governments across the GCC look to further diversify their economies and build on the success of major global sporting events, such as the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Dubai World Cup and Qatar Masters.

According to a recent PwC report, the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) market is currently ranked as the second largest sports market in the world, and is worth an estimated US $42.8 billion in annual revenues.

Given its extensive legal services, unrivalled regional footprint, and its deep knowledge of the Middle East, Al Tamimi believes it is well placed to provide expert legal counsel to international and local companies, as well as associations and governments, as they seek to operate and grow within the sports industry.

Commenting, Husam Hourani, Managing Partner of Al Tamimi, said: “We are delighted to be sponsoring the 2013 Aspire4Sport Congress and Exhibition. The Middle East is considered to be the prime emerging sports market and its growth offers opportunities for both domestic and international companies.

“This dynamic regional growth is exemplified by successful annual Formula 1 races in Abu Dhabi and Bahrain, as well as world class golf, tennis, swimming, horse racing and rugby tournaments throughout the region. These initiatives have combined with the awarding of the FIFA 2022 World Cup to Qatar, which will help to revolutionise the sports industry in the GCC, creating an even greater appetite for sporting events.

“The potential within the sports industry across the Middle East brings vast opportunities and challenges, and it will most certainly act as a catalyst for sustainable development. Al Tamimi stands ready to support both public and private sectors with all of their legal requirements.”

Aspire4Sport is regularly attended by a plethora of sporting stars from across the world. In the past Ruud Gullit, Magic Johnson, John Barnes, Jurgen Klinsmann, Martina Hingis and Lennox Lewis have all been involved in the event.
