Qatar’s stable and resilient economy, strategic location and young, educated workforce means it is a very attractive place to do business. A supportive business environment and future-ready infrastructure also add to its appeal for international investment.

With an office in Doha, our local knowledge of the domestic laws and business landscape, our global outlook and our international expertise offer clients the support they need to take advantage of the opportunities in Qatar.

Our ambition for Qatar and our clients in the region matches the Qatar National Vision 2030, which sees a move towards an increasingly diverse economy.

We have 42 staff living and working in Qatar, including 29 lawyers, many of whom are multi-lingual.

With excellent contacts at all levels of government, we are well-placed to help clients navigate local regulations. Clients can also benefit from the expertise of the wider Al Tamimi & Company network across the MENA region.

We offer a full range of corporate legal services in Qatar, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate structuring, litigation, banking and finance, intellectual property and tax.

Our clients include multinational corporations, local firms, family businesses and financial institutions, and we have experience in all of Qatar’s key sectors, including defence and security, education, energy & resources, financial services, hotels & leisure, real estate & construction and technology, media & telecommunications.

We have advised on some of the country’s most innovative and complex transactions.

Recent projects include:

  • Advising on the merger between Masraf Al Rayan (Al Rayan) QPSC and Al Khalij Commercial Bank.
  • Successfully defending our client Fincantieri S.p.A, one of the world’s leading shipbuilding and cruise ship design companies, in a court action filed by a local company claiming a commission and a compensation in excess of Euro250 million.
