Nick is the Partner responsible for our Technology, Media & Telecommunications practice. He is admitted in New Zealand, New South Wales and England & Wales, and registered with the Legal Affairs Department of the Government of Dubai. Nick has been with Al Tamimi & Company for about ten years, initially specializing in intellectual property, but for most of his time with the firm as a key member of the Technology, Media & Telecommunications team.

Nick's practice area is largely focused on technology-related legal matters and legal implications of the region's move towards innovation and digitalisation. This includes software licensing, procurement, consultancy services and outsourcing, data protection, and privacy and information security related issues, particularly in the context of cloud computing, telematics, tracking for retail analytic purposes, marketing communications and corporate/employment investigations. Many of Nick's clients are in the financial services sector, primarily major local and regional banks, international banks, insurance companies and payment solutions providers. He also advises a number of global players and local start-ups in the e-commerce space, including e-publishers, on-line marketplace operators, social media platforms and transport booking solution providers. He has worked with a number of government sector entities, including in respect of payment systems, software escrow issues, information security and data protection.

Nick writes regularly for Al Tamimi's Law Update magazine on a variety of legal issues within his practice area. He authored the UAE chapter of Data Protection & Privacy, 3rd Edition (the Sweet & Maxwell International Series), and he also contributes to the UAE chapter of Proskauer on Privacy.
