Raj has qualified in England and New York. Raj was previously based in Al Tamimi’s Ras al Khaimah office (UAE) which we helped to establish and develop. Raj is now heading up the corporate and commercial department in Bahrain where he previously worked. Raj advises on a wide range of commercial matters, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and project finance and has regional experience. Recent representations include acting for clients in the sports, telecommunications, power, financial services, mining and metallurgy, real estate development and software industries.
Raj has particular skill in advising on infrastructure projects and large scale developments across a wide range of sectors, acting for a broad range of clients including owners, buyers, developers, project companies, financiers and international law firms.
Raj is also a key member of the Firm’s Sports Law practice and has accumulated a wealth of sports law experience whilst working in London, Bahrain and the UAE. Raj has advised in connection with the hosting of the Master Champions League T20 in the UAE in January and February 2016 and the Dubai Tours cycle events. Previously in Bahrain, Raj advised on the setting up of the Arsenal Soccer School in Bahrain. He also acted for the Bahrain International Circuit for several years advising on various aspects of its operation including the F1 Grand Prix, V8 Supercars and other events at the circuit.
