Haroun Khwaja is a Senior Associate in our Technology, Media & Telecommunications practice.

Haroun has specialized in technology, media and telecommunications related law for most of his career. He advises on high-value and complex technology and telecommunications related contracts (including IT outsourcing, procurement, consultancy services, software development and software licensing), large scale projects (such as smart cities, national broadband networks and modernisation of government systems), and technology, media and telecommunications aspects of corporate transactions. Haroun also regularly advises on marketing, data protection, cyber security and privacy issues. His clients include both private sector clients and high profile government authorities.

Prior to joining Al Tamimi, Haroun was a senior associate in the pre-eminent TMT practice of Australian law firm, Gilbert + Tobin. During that time he completed secondments with Telstra, the 'incumbent' telecoms operator in Australia. Haroun subsequently held the role of Senior Legal Counsel at Hewlett-Packard Enterprise. Having worked closely with senior management and executives operating in the broader technology, media and telecommunications space, Haroun has gained valuable insight into the challenges faced by businesses. He is well-placed to meet clients' need for commercially sensible, strategic and pragmatic advice, particularly in the Saudi Arabian market, where he is currently based.

He is admitted to practice as a solicitor in New South Wales and is a member of the New South Wales law society.
