Al Tamimi in cooperation with the Consumer Protection Department of the Ministry of Economy and Trade recently hosted a seminar on anti-counterfeiting in Qatar. The seminar, held on Tuesday 19 February 2014 at the InterContinental Hotel in Doha, was attended by Inspectors from the Consumer Protection department of the Ministry. The seminar covered the topics on anti-counterfeiting and its impacts on trade and also provided the attendees with valuable information and methods for identifying counterfeit goods as well as developing and implementing anti-counterfeit strategies with case study examples from Wahl and Moser, Nestle and Bosch. The seminar provided a platform to keep the inspectors up-to-date with the latest techniques and methods of distinguishing counterfeit goods. Ahmed Zaza from Al Tamimi’s Dubai office and Ra’ed Al-Hout from the Qatar office, organised and presented at the seminar. In addition, Moutaz Abdullat, Regional Intellectual Property Advisor for Nestle, was also a participant at the event and one of the speakers at the seminar.
