The International Trademark Association (INTA) organised its first ever trademark conference in the Middle East. The two day event was held in Dubai from 9 to 10 December2013. To coincide with the INTA event, the Brand Owners Protection Group (BPG) also held a conference from 11 to 12 December, 2013. Both conferences were attended by IP and trademark practitioners from across the globe. To commemorate the unique opportunity of Dubai hosting the first ever INTA conference in the Middle East, Al Tamimi & Company hosted a reception which was held at the Cigar Lounge at the Address Downtown Dubai. The reception was attended by diplomatic officials based in Dubai, representatives from the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), as well as the CEO of INTA and distinguished guests from public and private sectors. The reception hosted an impressive group from the IP community and various counsel from across the globe that had travelled for the conferences. The Cigar Lounge, conveniently located in front of the monumental Burj Khalifa with a view of The Dubai Fountain, provided for a majestic background for an equally exceptional evening.
