



Alex is Head of Al Tamimi & Company's Kuwait Office. With over sixteen years of GCC experience, he has accumulated sizeable expertise in the areas of banking and finance, corporate transactions, mergers and acquisitions and private equity.
He has represented many of Kuwait's banking institutions in all facets, including loan documentation, ISDA matters, syndication transactions, and more recently restructuring and work-outs. Alex focuses his practice on structured finance, private equity, and capital markets with particular expertise in representing MENA and international financial institutions on structuring Shari'ah investment and finance products.
In the merger and acqusition arena, Alex has closed a significant number of GCC or MENA deals in his career in various industries including energy, pharmaceuticals, finance, real estate, communications and avaition.
In addition, Alex regularly advises foreign companies seeking to do business in Kuwait on a number of issues including private equity, management and control, while attempting to minimise tax exposure. He has advised and negotiated various joint venture arrangements between foreign and Kuwait entities relating to large infrastructure projects such as power generation plants, water desalination plants and sewage and waste water projects on build, operate and transfer arrangements and other concession-type deals.
Prior to establishing the Al Tamimi office in Kuwait in 2009, Alex worked as the Managing Partner for other regional and international law firms in Kuwait and Bahrain.
