



Mohamed Ak Bik is a Syrian national. He is a senior consultant for Al Tamimi & Company, specialising in litigation and court procedure, areas of practice where he has a wealth of experience. He received his LLB. from the University of Damascus, Syria in 1961. He was then employed in Syria, as a judge, until 1978, when he was seconded to the UAE as a judge in the Court of First Instance.
In 1981 he was promoted to the Federal Appeal Court where he served for fifteen years as a commercial and civil law appeal court judge (10 years as the president of the 1st circuit) before leaving the bench to join Al Tamimi & Company in October 1996 bringing with him more than 35 years of experience in commercial, banking, corporate, insurance and civil law and naturally with emphasis on litigation.
Mr. Ak Bik lectured on law and culture at Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, The Cultural Foundation in Abu Dhabi, Emirates Institute of Banking and Financial Studies in Sharjah, The Cultural Centre at Abu Dhabi Tourist Club, and Abu Dhabi Police Studies and Research Centre. He published several articles on law in the Magazine of Justice and Balance magazine issued by the Ministry of Justice. He has been contributing to the legislative development of the UAE and participated in drafting and amending several federal and local laws. He prepares companies´ memoranda and articles of association as well as personnel and administrative regulations.
