Mohamed Khodeir is an Egyptian national admitted before the Egyptian courts of appeal and holds a bachelor of law degree from Cairo University, English Section, and an LLM degree on international business law from Leiden University, the Netherlands. Mohamed is a member of the Egyptian Bar Association and the International Bar Association. He is fluent in both written and spoken Arabic and English.
Before joining Al Tamimi& Company, he practiced law in Egypt from 1999 until 2004 with a leading law firm, then in Kuwait with an international law firm from 2004 until 2006. During his practice in Egypt, Mohamed was involved in several deals (including one of the largest listings of shares on the Cairo and Alexandria Stock Exchange in 2003). He also represented vendors and purchasers in many M&A transactions successfully completed, where he was involved in the negotiation, structuring, drafting and closing of such transactions.
Mohamed has a diversified practice in advising and representing corporate, institutional and government GCC and international clients on different areas of law including: company, securities, banking, tax, labour, litigation (& ADRs), civil and commercial law matters and regulatory compliance, in addition to being involved in legislation drafting.
Mohamed has been extensively involved in major deals in the UAE including M&As and IPOs, which are currently his principal area of practice along with corporate governance and shareholders’ issues. He has attended, participated in and acted as moderator for courses, conferences and seminars in his relevant areas of practice and issued articles addressing miscellaneous legal topics.
Mohamed has been twice selected (2008 & 2009) in the Asialaw Leading Lawyers Survey, a survey conducted by voting amongst clients and legal experts, as one of the leading lawyers in the area of “General Corporate Practice”.
